Hydraulics Laboratory

Constant Head Tank

With the operation of any combination of one 8", one 10" or one 12" pumps the tank can maintain a constant head up to 4000 GPM out flow.

High Head Tank

Four cubic metre tank located 14m above the laboratory and is supplied by a 4" pump.

Brine Sump

The facility has two chambers and is fitted with three pumps. The capacity of the largest pump is 241/sec at head of 2m.

Long Wave Flumes

The long wave flume is one of six flumes within the Hydraulic Laboratory, the system comprises the flume, wave generator, surface profiling probes and computer based data acquisition system.
