The specific focus of this interest is in the field of Environmental and Integrated Assessment modelling, particularly relating to modelling water resources and their management. Research ProjectTitle: New methods of sensitivity analysis for complex environmental models This research proposes a new distance-based method of sensitivity analysis to be used for complex and integrated models, which utilises optimisation to determine the minimum change in parameters required to alter the model outputs significantly. The advantage of this method is its simplicity and its ability to assess the stability of model solutions, which is of particular importance when large-scale management decisions are being made on the basis of these model outputs. The method is based on the premise of using a set of acceptable model outcomes to derive a set of model inputs which will result in acceptable outputs.
