Contact InformationEmail: bscott@civeng.adelaide.edu.au Research InterestsRolling Dynamic Compaction Ground Improvement Research ProjectThe Impact of Rolling Dynamic Compaction Rolling dynamic compaction is commonly used to achieve ground improvement in the construction industry. However, there is a lack of information quantifying its effectiveness that limits the use of the impact roller. The aims of this research will be to better quantify the effectiveness of the impact roller. It is proposed that measurements from field investigations be undertaken (including measuring the energy imparted by the impact rolling module to the ground) such that appropriate testing methods can be recommended to quantify the effectiveness of the impact roller for ground improvement. This will be carried out for a range of soil types. The study will also involve field testing and numerical analysis.
