The JCEC Medal in Chemical Engineering
Whereas the South Australian Branch of the Joint Chemical Engineering Committee
(JCEC) has agreed to provide an annual prize and a medal in Chemical Engineering,
the following rules are hereby made:
- The Prize shall be called the "JCEC Medal in Chemical Engineering"
and shall be available for award each year.
- The Prize shall consist of a medal supplied by JCEC inscribed with the name
of the winner of the Prize, and a monetary Prize to the value of $100 per annum,
or such other amount as shall be determined in association with the S.A. Branch
of the Joint Chemical Engineering Committee (JCEC).
- The prize shall be awarded annually on the recommendation of the Head of School
of Chemical Engineering to the student with the best results obtained at his or
her first attempt in the combined assessment of the Level II courses CHEM ENG
2001 Chemical Process Principles II, CHEM ENG 2003 Introductory Process Fluid
Mechanics, CHEM ENG 2006 Plant and Process Engineering.
- No award shall be made if there is no candidate of sufficient merit.
- JCEC shall provide the successful student with an additional prize of two
fully paid tickets to the JCEC Annual General Meeting (AGM) in the following calendar
year. JCEC shall be notified of the name and contact details of the prizewinner.
- The rules of the prize may be varied from time to time by agreement between
JCEC and the Faculty of Engineering, Computer & Mathematical Sciences.
