The Sir Robert Chapman Prize
Whereas the University has received the sum of $600 subscribed by former students
of Sir Robert William Chapman, first Professor of Engineering and for fifty years
a teacher at the University, for the purpose of founding a prize in his honour
and memory, it is hereby provided as follows:
- There shall be an annual prize to be called "The Sir Robert Chapman Prize".
- The value of the prize shall be $100.
- An annual prize shall be awarded to the student in the Bachelor of Engineering
who has most distinguished himself or herself during that year in the Level I
Engineering courses in the program, provided that no award shall be made unless
the student is of sufficient academic merit.
- Where two or more candidates are of equal merit, the prize shall be shared
equally.
- If in any year no award is made, the prize for that year shall lapse.
- These rules may be varied from time to time, but the title and the general
purpose of the prize shall not be changed.
