The Australian Steel Institute Prize
Whereas the Australian Steel Institute has agreed to provide an annual prize in
Civil Engineering to encourage the study of steel structures, the following rules
are hereby made :
- The prize shall be known as "The Australian Steel Institute Prize".
- The prize shall be of the value of $200, or such other amount as shall be
determined, in association with The Australian Steel Institute.
- The prize shall be awarded on the recommendation of the Head of the School
of Civil and Environmental Engineering, to the student achieving the best result
in the examination component of the course C&ENVENG 3007 Structural Design
III (Steel) in the program for the degree of Bachelor of Engineering (Civil and
Structural).
- No award shall be made if, there is no candidate of sufficient merit.
- If, in any year, two or more candidates obtain equal highest marks in the
examination component of the course C&ENVENG 3007 Structural Design III (Steel),
the prize shall be divided equally amongst such candidates.
- These rules may be varied from time to time in association with the Australian
Steel Institute, but the title and general purpose of the prize shall not be changed.
Note: The Australian Steel Institute will, in addition, present the successful
candidate with a certificate.
