Institution of Radio and Electronics Engineers (IREE) Prize
in Microelectronics
Whereas the Institution of Radio and Electronics Engineers has provided the University
with the sum of $1,500 (augmented by the Faculty of Engineering to provide the
minimum required amount for an endowed prize) for the purpose of establishing
an annual prize in microelectronics, the following rules are hereby made:
- The prize shall be known as "The I.R.E.E. Prize in Microelectronics"
- The prize shall be of the value of $100, subject to the availability of funds,
or such other amount as shall, from time to time, be determined.
- The prize shall be awarded annually on the recommendation of the Head of the
School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering to the student who, amongst all
of the students enrolled in both ELECENG 4049 Analog Microelectronic Systems and ELECENG
4037 Digital Microelectronics, achieves the highest aggregate mark in the two
courses.
- No award shall be made if, there is no candidate of sufficient merit.
- If, in any year, two or more candidates qualify equally for the prize, it
shall be divided equally amongst such candidates.
- These rules may be varied from time to time, but the title and general purpose
of the prize shall not be changed.
