Our Engineering schools have close links with industry, and our research is well supported by grants and contracts from both government and the private sector. Many of our technological breakthroughs form the basis of independent companies with University shareholding or joint venture agreements with industry both in Australia and overseas. The schools of Computer Science, Applied Mathematics and Pure Mathematics have developed a reputation for excellence in postgraduate research, with one of the highest number of postgraduate students in the country.
The Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Commercialisation Centre is located within the Faculty. The ECIC is an educational leader in innovation and project management programs. It provides experienced professionals and graduates with a wide range of learning opportunities to gain critical knowledge and acquire the skills needed to pursue entrepreneurial activities, manage the commercialisation process and undertake effective innovation and project management strategies.
