Computational Engineering

Computational Engineers are at the forefront of modelling complex engineering problems using the latest in supercomputer technology.

Australia's First Computational Engineering Program

New in 2008, this program entails computational modelling, simulation and optimisation within the Engineering Sciences. Globally, Computational Engineering is regarded as an indispensable partner, along with experimentation and theoretical predication, in engineering practice and the advancement of scientific knowledge. With advances in computer technology and the complex algorithms required to solve complex problems, Computational Engineering now enables the development of complex engineering systems that are compatible with current trends of reduced emissions, fuel efficiency and the use of environmentally sustainable materials.

Graduates will address amongst other things the global engineering challenges arising through the need for an environmentally sustainable future.
